Mr. James Nyiha

James Nyiha is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya admitted to the bar in 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi with a postgraduate diploma from te Kenya School of Law. In 2009, he attended the prestigious Advanced Management Program organized by the Strathmore Business School together with IESE Business School (Spain) and Lagos Business School (Nigeria) and in 2010 he attended The Master Negotiator Programme organized by Strathmore Business School.

Whilst at the University of Nairobi, James Nyiha received the Hamilton Harrison & Matthews Award for the Best First Year Law Student and the prestigious Kaplan and Stratton Award for being the best overall student in the law degree programme for his class intake.

He has special expertise in negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, securities services creation and their realization, amalgamation and winding up of companies, loan recovery and drafting of commercial and residential leases. In litigation he handles various types of cases ranging from foreclosure suits for banks to disputes arising from contracts and arbitrations arising from building contracts.

He also serves as the Chief Prosecutor at the Advocates Disciplinary Committee established under the Advocates Act where he prosecutes on behalf of the Law Society of Kenya and as a Public Prosecutor appointed as such by the Honourable Attorney General of Kenya for offences committed under the Advocates Act.
